July 2019

The 4th of July parade has become one of our favorite traditions.

Our friends were nice enough to save us some seats, and it was fun to experience the parade with them.

The rest of the day we hung out at home, played outside, and grilled some yummy food.
We thought about taking the kids to the fireworks, but by the time it got later in the day they were pretty worn out and grumpy. Instead, we put them to bed and enjoyed fireworks we could see from our house.

We finally got our front yard hydroseeded!
It was such an interesting process to see happen.

We went on a little weekend family adventure.

We started at Lava Hot Springs.
Going to the pool for a day has become another favorite tradition.

All of the kids loved the kid swimming area, and Hudson really loved the big pool outside.

Our next stop was for some square ice cream.
It was really hot outside, so the ice cream was a perfect treat.

Our next stop and biggest reason for going down was at a campground in Lava.
We set up the tent and stayed for a night.

We had hot dogs for dinner, quickly made some s'mores, and then hid out in the tent to get away from the bugs.
After the kids went to bed Taylor and I watched a movie on the iPad.

The next day we headed to Taylor's parents' house after we ate breakfast and cleaned up our campsite.

We took a little RZR ride with the kids.
And then we took the kids back to Taylor's parents and went off just the two of us.
It's always nice to get a break from parenting- even if it is just for a short 20 minutes.

The kids' great grandparents were in town, and all of the kids loved seeing them again and getting to play with them.

We had Taylor's cousin's family over for a barbecue in our backyard one afternoon.
It was fun to catch up and especially fun to see these babies together again.
Avery is 3 or so months older than Logan.

I went downstairs to find Hudson had put himself down for a nap in the guest bed.
Too much summer fun wore him out.

Now that our basement was finished we started on our next big project.
We tore down half of the wall in between the living room and the kitchen.
It was WAY more work than we thought it would be. Taking out the pantry was crazy hard and the heat coming down from the ceiling/attic while it was open was tough, but it was worth it

Sno cone truck in the neighborhood!
Our neighbors helped us check off a water balloon fight on our summer bucket list.

The kids and I randomly went to the pet store to kill some time.
We very happily left with zero pets.

We went on our ward campout.
We had a blast!
The church owned camp is gorgeous, and the kids loved getting to canoe around the little lake.
While the numbers were pretty low for attendance, it was great to get to know some more people we hadn't really talked to before.
We're really hoping they do it again in the future!
