12 Months of Hudson// Month 9

-17ishhh pounds 27ish inches. He has an appointment on tuesday so we will find out then what his actual height and weight is.
-Size 3 diapers
-He is probably half and half with 3-6 months and 6-9 months. 6-9 month pants are definitely big on him and 6-9 month onsies are a little big, but they fit him well enough. He has outgrown some of the smaller 3-6 month onsies, but he still fits into a lot of them. He fits into 3-6 month shirts and pants.
-Naps twice a day around 10 and 3 for 1-2 hours.
-Eating more and more real food. There have been days when he has only had a bottle when he woke up and when he went to bed. He usually has 3-4 bottles a day and then food in between bottles.
-Developed his pincer grasp. We are thinking that he is going to be right handed because he started the pincer grasp in his right hand first. But he usually eats more food with his left hand while grabbing better with his right hand.
-Says "bababa" "mamama" "mom"(which sometimes sounds more like mam) and "ageee" (pronounced ah-gee with a hard g sound) But he obviously doesn't associate any meaning with these "words" yet.
-STILL not sleeping through the night... He is up at least once. Lately there have been a lot of nights that he has been up twice. We feed him a couple ounces, then his pacifier, and he goes right back out. Any magical ways you got your baby to sleep through the night?
-Uses the kitchen stools as a walker, but he only walks backwards with them. He will walk forward with his push toys. When he walks his push toys into a wall or furniture he will stand there and shake them/lift them up and slam them on the ground.
-New foods that I remember: grilled chicken-loved it, peach, strawberry, pumpkin cookie, tuna fish, ritz crackers(he can fit a whole ritz in his mouth), eggs, zucchini bread, stir fry-loved it, and probably some others.
-Starting to mimic/imitate
-Loves his daily baths. Hates getting out of the bath.
-He has been a major daddy's boy lately. He LOVES his father, and is always super excited when Taylor gets home from work.
-Having teeth is hard! He has bit his tongue hard enough to make it bleed and he has bit up upper gums/inside lip hard enough to make it bleed.
-Will crawl up your leg if you are sitting or standing.
-Prefers to have a blanket on when falling asleep.
-Throws a fit when getting into his car seat. He is perfectly fine after he is buckled.

One night while I was making dinner Taylor was holding Hudson and standing near me. He complained of Hudson getting heavy so I told him to put him down. He responded, "But he will get into everything!" I told him, "How do you think I do it all day?"

Hudson handled his first hair cut fairly well. Taylor held him on his lap while I did the buzzing. He kept trying to look up to see what the buzzing was on his head which made it a little challenging. I held him while Taylor trimmed around his ears and got the very back of his head. He wasn't a fan of that part because I had to hold his head so still so that he didn't get his ear cut. He really hated it when I laid him across my lap and held his head down so he was looking at the floor. It was the only way we could get the back of his head since he was so determined to see what was buzzing on his head the whole time.

Hudson is transitioning really well to spending time with babysitters again. It is SO hard to leave him after spending all day every day with him these last 7 weeks, but his personality makes it a little easier. He still doesn't really have any stranger anxiety, will go to anyone, and he doesn't cry when I drop him off. He loves getting to be the one that is bigger when he hangs out with Dean, and I love that Maverick will put him in his place haha.

Enjoys a game of peek a boo every now and then.
I can't get the video to turn, but he loved using the stools to walk for a few days.

The other video of the best laughing.

Our whole world.

The places this boy gets himself stuck amaze me.

I turn my back for 2 seconds to wash a dish and he has climbed on top or the dishwasher and has started emptying the dirty silverware.

Supporting Penn State on opening day.
& That outfit just kills me. It's so cute.

Always on this table.

This boy LOVES zucchini bread!

He will not sit normal in carts anymore.
& Sometimes he makes himself right at home.

Right at home.
At least eating and the bottle kept him entertained for 10 minutes of our shopping trip

Worn out from his first day playing with Dean and Mackenzie while I'm in class.
& He loves using his push toys. It is easily his favorite toy right now because it makes him so mobile.

These 4 pictures are from within a 5 minute span.
You can almost guarantee to find him either at the TV stand, the bookshelf, in the small table, or the fireplace.
Look at that foot. I'm thinking that we are going to have a climber on our hands.

The messes that this boy makes and leaves for me to clean up have gotten much worse.

Banging on chairs
& We had no idea that he even knew how to climb stairs until I set him down while in a store and he climbed up the entire flight on stairs.

Hudson gets his play time in during church on Sundays.
Notice in the first picture that both little girls are playing with Hudson's toys while he is playing with a pen.

Catching Up on Life

I have definitely slacked in blogging the last month, but I've been too busy enjoying summer and my 7 weeks at home with Hudson. So, here is a quick update about my little family.

A repeat picture because he's the best hard working father there is.

Taylor was just called to serve in the scouts for our church. I think he is going to like his new calling, and I think that the calling is perfect for him. He has been extremely busy at work with all of the farmers harvesting and needing the tractors and equipment, but, thankfully, he has still been able to be home with us on time most evenings.

I was just called as first counselor in the primary presidency for our church. At 22. While still in school. And with an 8 month old baby..... I've never had a calling of this magnitude so to say that I'm nervous about it would be an understatement. I've had so many questions and doubts as to why I have been chosen to serve in this position when I feel that there are so many other people in our ward that seem more fitting in my mind, but I know that the Lord has placed me here for a reason. I'm excited for everything that I am going to learn while serving in this calling.

I started my LAST SEMESTER of college yesterday! I only have 9 credits left that I have to take, but I am throwing in a couple of random online classes to have enough credits so I can still receive my scholarship and fasfa money. I will be in class 5 days a week this semester but, I think I will only have to travel to Rexburg 3 days a week. Thankfully, I'm not in school all day long(some days it's only 2 hours), so I will still have plenty of time to spend with Hudson. I will be teaching in a school(hopefully in Idaho Falls) 2 days a week for my senior practicum, and I will be in a different school twice a week during the first block for a different class. It will be a busy semester filled with portfolio presentation Then, it will be on to student teaching at an elementary school in Idaho Falls after the new year.

I have a big forehead so the hairs look shorter in person.

The part that literally never goes away.

And one last thing that I feel needs to be documented is my hair regrowth. I knew that woman lose a lot of hair after having a baby, but with my thick hair I lost A LOT of hair. It looks like I am getting bangs whether I want them or not. (and I don't want them) I feel like I have a mullet. When I put my hair up I still have a part from the little hairs. My aunt, who is a hairdresser, said that it is some of the worst regrowth that she has seen. Really comforting haha.

Hudson is busy being BUSY and adorable as ever. He continues to steal the hearts of everyone, and he continues to get into EVERYTHING and ANYTHING. More will be updated about him next week in his 9 month whoaaa! update.

Outdoorsy Adventuring

I so desperately wanted to get away and go camping this summer, but having 2/3s of my summer taken up with school made it hard to find time to go. All of a sudden the temperatures were getting lower at night than we wanted them to be when camping with a baby, and school was about to start. I've got some big dreams for next summer when I will no longer be in school. Wait whaaaat! I will be done with school by next summer, and I can't get enough of that thought!

We were gonna camp in our backyard because we are cheap we didn't make a reservation anywhere, but then it was suuuper windy and smokey so we slept in our beds while enjoying other parts of camping.

We hiked.
Hudson loves his carrier. He has fallen asleep every time we have hiked.

The top picture is from when I went on this hike with my family that was in town while Taylor was working.
The bottom is from 2-3 weeks later when we were socked in with smoke from the Soda fire near Boise.

We cooked in our dutch oven & grilled hot dogs.

Sorry, ladies. He's all mine.
The gas can. hahaha. We were out of lighter fluid for the charcoal.

We enjoyed an evening outdoors.

It was the most perfect not camping adventure I've ever been on.
