Easter Recap

Last year we were married right after Easter so this was our first married Easter together. We were kinda cheap money conscious and decided not to buy Easter baskets or other trinkets. We just got a bag of jelly beans and called it good.

Our Easter Sunday could not have been better. We spent it with my family which I'm sure won't happen very often. We were able to attend my brother's ward to watch our nephew be blessed. It was awesome and my brother and Maverick did so good.

 Family. Family. Family.

Family that was in the circle.

Taylor and I bought them matching ties. Maverick really pulls it off if you ask me ;)

Endowed

This past weekend was an experience like no other. I was so grateful for the people that I were there to support me. My life is forever changed because of the covenants that I was able to make with the Lord.

So blessed to have such an amazing family.

Yay for moms!

Our anniversary celebration

We have been married for a whole year now. Holy cow! It went by so fast and so slow at the same time. The day of our anniversary was special and simple. We went to church and ate a fancier meal for dinner of steak and vegetables.

We also ate our wedding cake. It looks so sad and pathetic in this picture. It wasn't too bad. A little dry, but it was edible. We each had about a bite of it, and then threw it away because we wanted other sweets instead. haha.

We had our real celebration in Salt Lake on Tuesday. We had to pick my mom up from the airport anyway so we took advantage of the situation. We shopped, explored, and enjoyed ourselves.

While walking around temple square we learned that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir would be rehearsing that night in the Tabernacle, and we were allowed to watch it if we wanted to. We had plenty of time so we listened to them, and it was amazing. It made the long drive so worth.

At the end of it all I was reunited with my mom after not seeing her for eleven months.
Celebrating Anniversaries might be my new favorite thing.
Now excuse me while I go spend the next couple of days with my mom. (:

Dear husband, Happy anniversary!

Dear Husband,

Happy Anniversary! I can't believe that we have been married for a year already. Time goes by fast when you are enjoying life with the one you love. There is no one that I would have wanted to spend this past year with other than you. It feels like we have been together forever, but man am I glad that it is only the beginning of our journey. It has been a wild ride this past year filled with many ups and a couple of downs, but I know that it has all worked together to strengthen and shape our marriage into what it is today.

I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us. I am sure that our second year of our marriage will be a big year for us. It will be filled with many more firsts, and new adventures. While I have no idea exactly what it will be filled with, I do know that I get to experience all of it with you, and that is all that matters to me.
Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for sharing many laughs with me. Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on. Thank you for working to provide for us. Thank you for supporting me in my goal to get a degree. Thank you for being the man of my dreams.

Thank you for being my best friend.
I love you forever & always.

9 things you might not know about me

1. I have very strict rules about jeans. No jeans on Sundays and no traveling in jeans. Also, jeans should be taken off and changed into comfy pants as soon as possible when you get home.

2. I twirled baton beginning at age 3 until I was 18. That's 15 years of my life dedicated to the sport. I have held state titles in the sport.

3. I believe that everything is better in pink. If it comes in pink, then I will own it in pink. My bike is pink. My phone cases are usually pink. Even my blow dryer is pink.

4. I met my husband when I was 17, but we didn't start dating until I was 19.

5. I love pickles. Always have and always will. We always have at least a jar of pickles on hand, but at one point we had three different kinds in the fridge. Good thing they usually have zero calories in them, right?

6. I can't whistle or wink.

7. I've read every single one of Nicholas Sparks' books, and I have seen every movie adaptation of his books. He's my all time favorite author.

8. I prefer anything fruity over something chocolate.

9. One of my eyes is always open more than the other in pictures. It drive me crazy, but I assume that it is related to the lazy eye that I had when I was younger and the fact that one of my eyes is stronger than the other.

Biker Babe

This past weekend Taylor taught me how to ride a dirt bike! Considering that I have been with Taylor for the past two years, it is a miracle that it took me this long to learn.

It was really fun and so scary. I feel like I did pretty good until I accidentally went into a rut and tipped/wrecked. I ended up spraining my ankle in the scary mess. I was very grateful that my sweet husband was able and willing to give me a blessing right after it happened. It was amazing how it almost instantly made some of the pain subside.

As we sat on the ground for a few minutes after I wrecked I wasn't sure that I really wanted to get back on the bike. I'm grateful that Taylor didn't even think twice about me riding it back to the shop. If I hadn't ridden the bike again right then and there, then I might be too afraid to ever get on one again. And truth be told those peaceful moments sitting on the side of the trail were some of my favorite moments from the whole day.
