May

I busted out the water table for the first time ever once the temperature reached 75.
I had bought it on an awesome Amazon deal before Christmas, so I was pretty excited for the kids to finally get to use it.

We planted our garden.

We spent Mother's Day in Bancroft so we could listen to Taylor's cousin's homecoming talk.
Afterwards, we went to Taylor's parents house for a few hours before heading home.

"Gosh being a princess is exhausting"
Because when you find a saying that's as fitting as this one is for these girls, you obviously have no choice but to make them matching shirts.

We live on the corner by the drains, so our street flooding from a good rainstorm is nothing new.
That being said, our street flooding this bad was something new.
Naturally the only option was to go outside and play in it.
The flooded street brought all the neighborhood kids out to play in it.
I think everyone was a little sad when the water finally drained a few hours later and there was nothing left to play in.
The only downside to the flooding was that it washed away our mulch in our landscaping sending us to the store to buy more.
Shout out to the neighborhood bunnies for eating all of the flowers in our landscaping...

I'm pretty sure Taylor regretted buying these 3D puzzles for the kids after he spent too much time and effort helping them make them.

Every year Taylor's work sponsors the monster truck show. We've been lucky enough to get free tickets to it for two years now thanks to his work.
Hudson was a huge fan of it.
His redneck side really came out as he yelled and cheered on the monster trucks.
We'll call these pictures the evolution of Ella at the monster truck show.
She hated it at first and was so scared of how loud they were.
After not long she started to warm up to them, and eventually she was cheering them on.

It has randomly become a tradition to go to the zoo every Memorial Day. I don't really know how it started, but we just keep going with it.

After we go to the zoo we always go to the "Field of a thousand flags" display that is put on in a local park by the city. I want to make sure that my kids grow up knowing what this day is really about, and this display is a great way to show them even though they don't understand yet.

12 Months of Avery// Month 1

Weight: 7 pounds 1 ounce

Height: 20 inches

Diapers: Size 1. She still fits into newborn size diapers, but I used our last newborn diaper yesterday and I'm not willing to buy more of them.

Clothes: Newborn

Sleeping: She still spends most of her day sleeping. At night she is usually up every 3 hours which ends up being twice a night. She still sleeps in our room at night but will be moved to her own room as soon as we clean it out.. She has put herself on a pretty good eat, wake, sleep schedule.

Eating: She eats 2 or almost ounces of formula every 3 hours.

Milestones: Awake for longer periods of time

Likes: being swaddled// binky// being held// looking at lights//

Dislikes: baths//

Avery is having trouble putting on weight which has led to multiple extra weight checks and adding more than the normal amount of formula to her bottles. As of her last weight check two days ago she was only up 4 ounces from her birth weight, and she hasn't even put on a full pound from her lowest weight. We go in for a weight check this coming Wednesday, and if she still hasn't gained weight like she should be then she might be admitted to the hospital to get testing done. We're crossing our fingers that the extra formula is enough help and this Wednesday can be our last weight check.
