August 2018

Late summer 2018 was the year for street floods.
There were multiple storms that flooded our little corner and the neighborhood kids took full advantage of it by running and splashing in it until it drained hours later.

The day Taylor officially became the favorite parent.

We finally tackled the shower walls in the bathroom.
It made SUCH a difference to the space, and we learned so much doing it.
The biggest thing I learned was how to tile. Thanks people on Youtube for teaching me.

We took advantage of the huge pieces of cardboard the shower walls came in and let the kids wild with paint in the backyard. And apparently Carly and I don't think to check the weather because a summer storm rolled in about 15-20 minutes later and put an end to the fun.

every. single. zoo. trip.
The kids literally cannot walk past this without asking me to take a picture of them on it.

We took the kids to Rexburg Rapids one Saturday afternoon.
Once Hudson warmed up to the water he had a blast playing on all of the things.
Ella was definitely a bit more apprehensive and hung out by Taylor or I the whole time.

Afternoon swim in the backyard

Aunt Bekah and Uncle Nile came up for a weekend, and the kids had so much fun with them.
This was their most favorite thing about the whole weekend.
Taylor and I were quick to inform them that wasn't something parents did- only aunts and uncles because they never would have let us stop.

Hudson came out one Sunday "ready for church"
We felt only a little bit bad informing him that wasn't exactly church approved attire.

July 2018

The highlight of July is always Independence Day.

Sunday before the 4th.

Rebekah and Nile went to the parade route early to find us a spot.
It was SO cold the morning!
I'm pretty sure the lows the night before were in the 40s which left us absolutely freezing until it warmed up for the day.
The kids sat in the front with Bekah and Nile most of the parade which left Taylor and I to watch the it in peace and quiet.
We definitely didn't complaining about that.

We spent the rest of the day swimming, barbecuing, and spending time together.

Early in the evening we grabbed our neighbors and lit off some small fountain fireworks and let the kids get wild with sparklers.
All in all it was one of the good days for sure.
Our garden was thriving in July!

We took our big vacation to Pennsylvania.
It was a trip filled the to brim with family time and fun.
