February 2020

We completed another small house project.
It made the basement family room feel so much homier.

Another month, another round of selfies by one of the kids.

Ella's first time writing her name all on her own without guidance or looking at it.

We got each of the kids a little heart of chocolates and a small toy from Target's dollar spot.
Ella was excited about them for half a second and then went right back to asking for freshly shredded cheese.

Hudson was SO excited for his preschool Valentine's Day party.
It was adorable to watch him open up his bag and see what his classmates got him.
He was very quick to devour the candy, and truly loved every little trinket and toy he got.

Valentine's cookies and a quick picture with dad.
On Valentine's Day I woke up to the biggest bottle of Tums I had ever seen (a pregnant woman's dream) and a bouquet of roses. I wasn't expecting anything, so it was a pleasant surprise.
We made a small steak dinner at home to celebrate the day.

Ella had her dance recital!
She did so good, and you could tell she actually knew the routine which impressed us.

Ella's recital happened to be on Taylor's birthday, so he got a little jipped as far as birthday celebrations go.
We made it up to him by taking him out for breakfast the following Saturday at Abracadabra's.

My friends and I threw a surprise 30th birthday party for Tana.
It was a complete success and such a fun evening celebrating an awesome person!

A look into how Taylor and I fight.
We went back and forth for weeks on whether or not we would find out the gender of our last baby.
Everything went great at the 20 week ultrasound, and we didn't find out the gender.

Hudson came home from preschool with a dinosaur egg.
He loved that little guy and was so excited for it to hatch.

Macey got another hair cut.

We all just about died from a stomach bug.
Avery threw up late on a Friday, Ella woke up at 10:30 Monday night throwing up, Taylor and I came down with it early Tuesday morning, and then Hudson was the last one Tuesday afternoon. It was ROUGH. Especially because by the time everyone else was sick Avery was back to her normal self and caused so much mess and mischief in the house.
And then a friend got it and multiple members of her family.
Worst stomach bug ever.

I had a craft day with some friends making growth charts!
Tana was there as well but had to leave before we all finished.

Taylor went out of town to Wisconsin for work for 6 days, and I decided to keep busy by attempting to paint all 3 bedrooms white while he was gone. I only got done the kids bedrooms, but it definitely was a good, slightly stressful way to keep busy. I underestimated how much it would wear me out considering I was 24ish weeks pregnant.

Late one day midweek Ella started complaining that her ear hurt.
I called the pediatrician's office to see if they thought it was an ear infection and was instructed to bring her in to the local children's urgent care because they were booked for the evening.
I changed out of my painting clothes, loaded up all of the kids, and headed to get her checked out. It was already after six at this point, so it was basically a recipe for disaster.
Tired kids, one confirmed ear infection well on its way to being a double ear infection, and no time for dinner was not a good combination. We busted out of there well past bedtime, swung by Chik-fil-A for dinner, grabbed our drive up Target order of wipes, and headed to the pharmacy.
I pulled up to the pharmacy window with Ella who screaming in pain and exhaustion and Avery and Hudson crying because Ella was screaming so much only to be told that her prescription still wasn't ready. Queue breaking point. By the time we got home it was getting closer to 9 o'clock and the Chik-fil- A was cold.
I took the rest of the time Taylor was gone off from painting for the sake of everyone. It was easily the hardest work trip of Taylor's for me, but obviously we all survived.

January 2020

First Sunday of the new year!
CTR 5 and a Sunbeam!

We got four new tires put on our car on a Friday.
The following Monday I was running errands with the kids when I heard a hissing sound as I was loading Avery. A big bolt in our brand new tire.... We then got to spend part of our afternoon sitting in the tire shop getting it fixed.

Plenty of activities trying to keep the kids entertained during the cold weather

Sledding adventures during Avery's nap!
The giant dirt piles behind our house from the construction did provide some good entertainment when they were covered in snow.
We were grateful to have our own sledding hill in our backyard.

We did no eating out in January.
With one exception... The Waffle luv food truck came through town. So yummy!

17 weeks with baby number four.

Ella started her first dance class!
She took dance at Kids' Town. I signed her up knowing Emma was doing the class too, and we were pleasantly surprised to see two other girls from our ward/neighborhood in the same class.

She loved it!
Wednesdays quickly became her favorite day of the week, and she went to class every week with zero hesitation.

The tongue sticking out concentration is my favorite.

The floors... oh the floors. What a project!
We did most of the floors in December, but finished it up in January.
We actually finished laying the floors about 10 minutes before midnight on new year's eve.
We spent the rest of the month putting in new baseboards and then caulking and painting them.

the old dark, not my favorite, floors

Obsessed with this before and after.

Bop it wars. A random picture taken by Hudson.

We got snow. Like, a lot of snow.
SO MUCH SNOW.
The local news station posted this on their facebook page which shows how much more snow we got compared to a city that is maybe an hour south of us.
The month wasn't even when this was posted... It was rough for sure.

Taylor turned the RZR into a snow plow!
He was pretty proud of this which made it so much better to watch. Total dad pride.
The kids really loved it too, and it was a fun way for them to get outside for a while.

At one point Ella got stuck, and Hudson was quick to jump out and give her a push.
