Just so you know..

We like to match on Sundays.

This is the last weekend in July. Where the heck did summer go?!

Taylor got a raise after working at Pioneer for only two months because his bosses are so impressed with him.

Taylor getting a raise couldn't have come at a more perfect time because I've lost a lot of hours at work recently.

Sometimes we make real food, and every now and then it even tastes good.

I'm super excited to start school again in 6ish weeks. I might have already bought some school supplies. I also might have payed 50 cents more to get the name brand notebook only because they had it in pink and the store brand didn't.

We're Candy Crush obsessed fools.

We watch America's Got Talent on a regular basis. There are some crazy people on there.

We are so blessed. :)

I Scream for Ice Cream

Growing up in in the east, or at least north eastern Pennsylvania, you are practically raised on ice cream. Between Turkey Hill's 2 for $5 sale every other month and all the soft serve places we had ice cream on a regular basis. Within a five mile radius of the house I grew up in there is three different ice cream shops. Sadly, Idaho doesn't seem to value ice cream like they should. Idaho seems to have a weird obsession with snow cones and frozen yogurt. Don't get me wrong, I love Kiwi Loco, but I miss going out for ice cream after band concerts and recitals as a family. I know McDonald's and Burger King have their cheap cones, but it isn't the same.

One of the best things about Taylor serving his mission in Pennsylvania is that he knows exactly what I mean and can complain about some of the same things. Lucky for me he was craving ice cream the other day so he took me to Cold Stone. I had never eaten there before, and I loved it. We ate it late enough in the day that it pretty much turned into our dinner. You definitely can't go wrong with ice cream this summer since it's been so flippin' hot outside.

I suppose the point of this post is just to say I love ice cream and Idaho needs to get more soft serve places :)

Lagoon!

Taylor and I decided at the beginning of the summer that we wanted to take a trip to Lagoon and camp there. Things changed a little bit, and it turned into a family trip with Taylor's family without any camping. The trip happened to land on July 13th which means we've been married for three months! We had a good time and we are very glad that we had the opportunity to go.

It was the perfect day to be there. The lines weren't too terribly long, and the weather was beautiful. We spent most of the day with the two of us and Taylor's younger brother, Nathan.

In the 6ish hours we were there we manged to fit in lots of fun and lots of roller coasters.

Icees were the perfect treat to cool down with in the afternoon :)

My crazy husband and Nathan decided to go on the Catapult. It goes 250 feet high at 60 mph.
Luckily, they survived!

One of my favorite parts of the trip was getting to see the Logan temple for the first time.
This is the temple that my parents were married in. Crazy to think that my family started in that incredible building almost 29 years ago.

And sometimes Grace can be pretty.

It was really nice to get away for the weekend, and have great people to spend the weekend with. Hopefully we'll be able to go to Lagoon again soon and go camping next time.

The Fourth, Family, Food, Fun, and Fireworks

Let me start this off by saying I LOVE the Fourth of July! I love seeing everyone in red, white, and blue. I love the traditions. I love the barbecuing. I love the parades. I love the American pride. I love all of it

At home we would always go out to my family's lake house, but I don't have that opportunity to do that out here. Lucky for me I get to adopt Taylor's family's traditions instead. We went down to Grace on the third and had a movie party on the back of his parent's house. We used a projector for the movie and had all the snacks and goodies we could ever want.

We started off the day with a parade in Soda Springs. If you know how small Soda Springs is then you can only imagine how tiny of a parade it was. We hung out for a little while afterwards, enjoyed some brother bonding, and then headed back to Grace to go riding.

That little snow spot is where we were headed, and the view from the top by snow spot.
When you get up in the mountains it starts to look a little like Pennsylvania.
Last year on the mountain and this year.

Every year Taylor's family goes on a big family ride up to the top of a mountain, hangs out for a while, and then heads home for a barbecue lunch. We didn't stay for very long because it started to thunder and then rain, but it was still a lot of fun, and I got to drive the Rzr part of the time :) We had a great lunch with lots of yummy food thanks to my mother-in-law. Taylor and I then headed back to Idaho Falls to get cleaned up and see the fireworks.

These fireworks are said to be the biggest show east of the Mississippi. After seeing the fireworks at the Celebrate America festival I'm not sure if that is correct. We both liked the fireworks in Driggs better, but we're still going to go to Idaho Fall's show every year because it isn't the Fourth without fireworks. There are lots of booths selling things, and tons of people. We kept ourselves entertained with a deck of cards, and snacks while we waited for the fireworks to start. All in all I would say that it turned out to be a great Fourth of July.

I'm Semi-impulsive!

First thing you should know is that I am a super indecisive person. I think about things and ask everyone their opinion before I make a choice. That is if I can even come to a decision. Try planning a wedding being like this, and having a mother that is the same way. It is nearly impossible.

The second thing you should know is that I've practically always had long hair. When I was little it was down to my butt. About a year and a half ago I donated my hair, and it was just starting to get long again. I simply love having long hair.

About a week ago I made probably one of the most impulsive decisions about my hair. I cut at least five inches off. That is ten months worth of growing, and to me that's a big deal. I figured with Idaho's above average summer we're having/going to have and the fact that the house I babysit in is consistently up to 80 degrees by noon it was too much for long thick hair. All weddings were over for a long time so I didn't need it to be long for anything either. I thought about it for a week, and only consulted my mom, Taylor, and my sister. That really is the fastest I have made any decision like this. Go me :)

I've only ever had my hair cut by my aunt Beckie and my hair dresser of 10+ years. Being that I'm way too far away from either of them I had no choice but to wait forever or find someone else. I chose some place in the mall that I could get into fast so I wouldn't be able to change my mind. I walked in to my appointment, and found out a guy was going to be cutting my hair. Imagine my horror. I was in total freak out mode. While he was cutting my hair he told me that I was going to LOVE the back, and that he loved the arches in my eyebrows. (he had just waxed them) He also loved the color of my hair, and couldn't believe that it was my natural color and I hadn't dyed it. It was the weirdest hair appointment of my life, but now my hair is short and it was a mostly good experience.
