We used a picture from our family pictures that we had done this fall for our Christmas card.
I'm kinda thinking that I never got around to sharing those pictures on the blog, but they turned out super cute thanks to my cousin, Melissa, who took them. Maybe I should get around to posting them..
Anywho, I couldn't help but share these adorable pictures of my favorite 1 year old. We're out in Pennsylvania surprising my whole family by flying out, so I imagine we are currently having a great Christmas.
We threw Hudson a winter onederland birthday party a week before he turned one. I wanted as much family as possible to be there, and it was the only day that would work for his Aunt Brei, Uncle Lehi, and his cousin Maverick since they are moving to Texas the day before his birthday. I'm not going to lie it was a lot of work since I also had a ton of things going on for school, but it turned out SO cute and was worth all of the work.
I'm just going to go ahead and do a picture dump from the party considering blogger just uploaded pictures that I thought I had deleted and none of them are cropped or edited anymore. Thanks but no thanks blogger. Oh well.
We had a chili (Chilly) bar of sorts
I made divinity (snow balls), chocolate covered pretzels (icicles), veggies with ranch (snow), punch with ice cream(ice bergs), and the we had silver wrapped hershey's kisses, some snowflake fruit snack things found in winco's bulk food section, and some cookies n' cream round pieces.
I loved his cake. We just picked it up at Walmart, but the blue fit the theme perfectly!
These three boys were super cute together
(Maverick, Connor, and Hudson)
How can you not love this cute boy?!
His shirt said "It's my birthday" and had a Trex riding a bicycle. Thank you gymboree clearance.
They decided that climbing on top of the presents was the greatest thing ever.
Don't let this picture fool you he was terrible at opening presents haha.
He just wanted to keep playing with the one that was opened instead of opening more.
Wanting nothing to do with opening more presents ha.
Maverick pretty much stole the present show opening presents for Hudson and playing with all of Hudson's new toys.
He loved the cake.
Although it doesn't look like it, he ate his cake quite daintily. (Is that even a word? Is now.)
We were so very grateful for the family that attended and for all the new toys that Hudson received. He was getting awfully bored with all of the toys that he had. I truly can't believe that my baby has turned one. It has been such a great year with him in our lives. I would never take back getting pregnant and having him. I'm amazed at how perfectly he has fit into our lives. There isn't a doubt in my mind that he was meant to be with us at this time in our lives. I just want everyone to have babies so that they can experience the true joy that they bring haha.
Eventually I will get around to posting Hudson's cake smash pictures from a mini session that we did with him and posting a video of his first year, and then maybe I will be done with birthday posts. Probably not though ha.
I am finally done with school! I survived. We survived. I still have to student teach, but really the hardest part is over. I'm just so excited! However, I'm not excited to be away from Hudson for 8 hours a day. I've never been away from him for that long. It will be hard, but I know that it will be so worth it.
My little family is my favorite thing ever.
Confession time: I didn't actually go to graduation. I put on my sister-in-law's old cap and gown just so I could have pictures.
I don't regret not walking one bit.
A forever long ceremony with a little boy who would have no desire to be there did not sound like a good way of honoring my graduation.
I look so very terrible, but I just love this cute boy of mine.
I hope he one day looks up to me and sees the sacrifice that I made to get an education.
I hope he sees the value of education and chooses to get a degree in whatever his heart desires.
I hope he knows how hard I worked so that I can provide for our family if the need ever arises.
I hope he knows how much I love him and how I continued to get my education for him.
And here is to never ever ever going to school again. #hallelujah
-Sleeps 7:30-7:30. He will sleep in later on Saturday and Sunday since he doesn't hear us moving around.
-Drinks cow's milk now. Yay for not mixing bottles anymore! Mainly a bottle in the morning and at before bed
-Loves to eat fruit loops, bananas, oranges, yogurt, pouches of applesauce or squeezable fruit, and anything that we are eating
-Still wearing 6-9 month clothes. He can wear 12 month shirts, but I typically have to roll the sleeve once and some are on the longer side. 12 month pants are too big in the waist and too long, so he still wear 6-9 month pants.
-Says ya, hi, hey, mama, and mmmm. I don't think he actually means anything when he says these thing, but he says them all the time.
-LOVES to drive cars/tractors/anything else that has wheels. He has even started to make his own sort of vroom sounds while driving them.
-Mimics all the time.
-Has developed an attachment to the tractor blanket that I made him.
-Throws things in the trash can-namely his toys.
-Really hates it when dad leaves.
-Gives the best hugs. If you sit on the floor or squat down and put your arms out he will come to you with his arms out and hug/lean into you.
-Loves to walk around and explore. He's content to walk around, picking up things, carrying them around, and then setting them down.
-Mischievous little boy. He will hold his snack container upside down and then pull his cheerios out so they dump out. He also will grab a handful of cheerios, drop them on the floor, and then walk away.
-Loves his mom and dad.
-He has gotten clingier when I drop him off at babysitters. When we are out in public and someone talks to him he will lean into us. Although, he is still mostly fine with people he doesn't know
-Hated Santa Clause
Hudson LOVED having more grandparents to play with during Thanksgiving
He dances whenever he hears music.
It's the cutest thing ever
Had his first Thanksgiving (Read more about that here)
& He adores the Christmas tree.
He is actually fairly good about not destroying the tree
First time eating a Texas Roadhouse roll
Playing with the Little People nativity
We found him on the shelf playing with this part from his walker.
He was so content to be up there.
Loves to drive cars/tractors/anything with wheels.
It's probably his favorite thing to play.
And he makes car noises to go with them.
That mean old Santa Claus hahaha
He is terrified of the vacuum.
The crying was just because I had turned it on.
I was vacuuming out the diaper bag, which means that it wasn't even moving.
& He likes to take our condiments out of the fridge one by one.
Set the box of diapers down and went to set other groceries down.
I turned around to find him standing on top of it.
& Looking SO handsome for church thanks to his Great Grandma Shirley
He runs around the primary room during singing and sharing time.
On this Sunday and got tired and decided that right there is where he wanted to lay down and take a break.
All these toys and he loves to play with the drain cover..
We are so grateful to have had this sweet boy with us this past year. He has truly been the best and the easiest baby. He is nearly always smiling and loves to play independently. We absolutely adore him, and can't wait to see the man that he becomes. It is so very true what they say, it goes so fast. We love you, Hudson!
