12 Months of Oaklee// Month 10

Weight: Almost 16 pounds. Her weight at her 9 month check up put her in the 6th percentile.

Diapers: Size 3

Clothes: 6-9 months

Sleeping: Since moving, she wakes up a little before 7 from hearing the other kids and sharing a room with Ella. Her first nap is around 9, and her second is usually between 1 and 2. She goes to bed at night any time after 6:30. Most of the time she sleeps through the night, but she occasionally wakes up before we go to bed if it has been too long since she has had a bottle.

Eating: Everything and anything. She drinks at least part of a 4 ounce bottle every 3-4 hours. Most of the time she gets too distracted and crawls away leaving her half empty bottle behind. She loves food and will grab a handful of cheerios before we even finish pouring them into her high chair tray. She is quick to beg for anything we are eating, and there hasn't really been anything she has tried that she hasn't liked.

Milestones: First tooth! One of her top middle teeth has come in. Mimics sounds all day long. First Easter.

Likes: Getting into everything, trying to drink from her bottle sitting up, food, binkies only when going to bed, using anything and everything to stand up, her siblings

Dislikes: Getting her diaper changed- being still is the enemy.

12 Months of Oaklee// Month 9

Weight: 15-16 pounds

Diapers: Size 3

Clothes: 6 months

Sleeping: Oaklee takes 2 naps a day. She goes down for her first nap sometime between 9 and 10 and sleeps for 1.5-2.5 hours. I usually try to put her down for her second nap whenever Avery takes her nap so sometime around 1-2. She goes to bed between 6:30 and 7 and wakes up for the day around 7:30-8. She takes her binky to sleep, and she loves to play with her blanket as she falls asleep.

Eating: She eats 4 ounces of formula every 3ish hours during the day. If she is still hungry after a bottle, then we put her in her high chair with some finger foods. She is really loving cheerios, waffles, puffs, pizza, pasta

Milestones: I don't think anything major has happened this last month. She is really working on her pincer grasp, but hasn't mastered it yet. She continues to crawl all over the house.

Likes: food, food, and food. Getting into Macey's food and water bowl.

Dislikes: Getting caught when she's in the dog food,

She's as happy as can be and pretty darn easy, and I am so so grateful for it. She get s asmidge fussy when she's tired or hungry and that's honestly about it. She spends her days wandering around the house, and I just check in on her every so often to make sure she doesn't choke on anything or fall down the stairs. She's really content to explore, but she also loves when her siblings interact with her.

12 Months of Oaklee// Month 8

Weight: 14.something pounds

Diapers: Size 3

Clothes: 6 months

Sleeping: Most days Oaklee takes 2 naps a day. Her first is usually around 9 for an hour and a half or so, and her second is at 1 and usually lasts 2+ hours. She goes to bed between 6:30 and 7 and wakes up for the day around 8. However, this morning she didn't wake up until 9:30!

Eating: She eats 4 ounces of formula every 3ish hours during the day. We've fed her purees a total of 4 times maybe? We are much more into baby led weaning, so she eats whatever we eat for dinner, occasionally some of my lunch if she is awake for it, and then mostly puffs, rice rusks, or cheerios during the day if she's feeling snacky/I need to entertain her to get something done.

Milestones: This has been a huge gross motor milestone month for Oaklee. She has completely ditched army crawling and inch worming and now crawls on her hands and knees full time. She has gotten fast at it too. She has finally decided that sitting up is not the worst thing. It seemed like overnight she became a pro at sitting up. She can sit herself up from laying down. She also now goes from sitting to crawling without her belly ever touching the ground. She is starting to pull to stand and is starting to do some cruising.

Likes: FOOD, exploring the house, Ella playing with her

Dislikes: Being hungry, the baby puppy (darn thing is just the right size to pounce on Oaklee and is way too young to understand that it shouldn't), teething

12 Months of Oaklee// Month 7

Weight: 13-14 pounds

Diapers: Size 2. Size 3 at night.

Clothes: 3-6/6 months

Sleeping: Oaklee usually takes 3 naps a day. Her last nap is really short because we have to wake her up by 6 to make sure she goes to sleep when the other kids do. She sleeps 7-7:30ish at night, but almost always wakes up once a night for a bottle. She continues to take a binky to fall asleep, and that is the only time she will take one. I think she still sleeps on her back, but she is almost always on her stomach when we get her out of her crib.

Eating: She eats 4 ounces of formula every 3ish hours during the day, and has a bottle when she wakes up at night. Oaklee has had purees only a handful of times, and she seemed to like them. I just don't like the time they take to feed her, so we tend to wait until she can have things she can feed herself. She's had cut up steamed carrots and a few bites of our dinners. She has also had puffs and rice rusks.

Milestones: Oaklee is doing a mix of fast inch worming and army crawling these days. She mostly does inch worming though. When she is in hands and knees crawling position, she is starting to lift and move one of her hands. Pro at holding her own bottle. First Christmas and New Years.

Not so much a milestone? but Oaklee got pink eye for the first (and hopefully last time) Thankfully, the drops cleared up her eye by the next day.

Likes: Rise rusks, jumping, mirrors, sitting in the high chair, her siblings talking to her, moving around on the floor

Dislikes: She is starting to dislike being held if your sitting because she would much rather be on the floor moving. She just squirms to get out of your arms. Sitting up. She will forcefully push against you at least half of the time if you try to make her sit up unassisted.

Overall, Oaklee is a pretty happy baby. She's content to just explore the room. She fusses when she's tired and hungry, and that's really about it. We're more than ready for her to stop spitting up all over everything all the time, and we can't wait to watch her get more and more mobile and see more of her personality come out.

She rocked her 6 month check up. She went from the 4th percentile to 10th percentile for weight!

darn pink eye.

October 2020

We kicked off the first weekend in October with Ella's birthday weekend.
We went to the U-pick Red Barn with the kids and my parents.
It was an absolutely gorgeous October day.

Ella turned FOUR!
We had her two little besties over for a mini birthday party.

We had our family pictures taken on a perfect evening.

Hudson got dumb and threw the apple remote at the tv one afternoon, so that really sucked.
I took the photo of us a few days after he broke the tv to prove that he was still alive.

Avery found an open jar of Nutella while I was working downstairs in the office.

Going to the dentist looks a little different these days.
No toys in the waiting room, waiting in the car if it's too busy, and face masks on until they're ready to start working on you.

Ella had another dance recital.
She did this session of dance with her besties, Hayling and Brielle.
I love how much she loves to dance.

Their dance teacher.

We were finally able to go back to church for the first time since March.
We started out only going once every 3 weeks and only for sacrament meeting.

We carved pumpkins with the kids the day before Halloween.

I volunteered in Hudson's class to help with their Halloween party.
Hudson's costume included a fake mustache, so I couldn't resist adding it to his facemask.
It was fun to see him in his element at school.

We went as a circus for Halloween this year!

Taylor was the ringleader.
I was the popcorn seller.

Hudson was the "strong man"

Ellas was our tightrope walker

Avery was a clown

And Oaklee was our ferocious tiger

We had a Halloween get together/party with our friends.
We had soups for dinner and the kids decorated sugar cookies.
After our bellies were full, we all went out trick or treating together.

It was a really fun evening, and our neighborhood definitely showed up for the holiday.
