Weddings Galore & a Week with Family

At the end of July my mom came to visit and attend two of my cousins wedding.

We drove to boise on the 24th, picked up my mom, and stayed the weekend to attend my cousin, Colten's, wedding. Hudson enjoyed being spoiled by his grandma and great grandparents.

Waiting for my mom in the airport.
Pretty sure he was licking that... hahaha
Also I now know never to let my baby crawl around on an airport floor. His onsie was disgusting afterwards.

We were fed well, had great company, and a place to stay, so we had a great weekend.

Munching on pickles during dinner.

On Saturday we went to the Boise temple for Colten's wedding and then headed to Middleton. Before the luncheon we stopped to visit my Grandma's grave. (my mom's mom)

Meeting his Great Grandma Jensen for the first time.

On the way home we stopped to visit my Great Grandma Jensen. She was very happy to see all of us, and it was great for my mom to be able to see her grandmother again.

The rest of our week was filled with plenty of adventures.

We crafted.

My brother, Matt, stopped by for a few days while on his way to Montana. It was the first time that he got to meet Hudson.

We went to a baseball game.
Hudson only lasted 3 innings before he was ready for bed.
Truthfully, I think we all only lasted 3 innings as much as we wanted to blame the baby.

We visited the Greenbelt.

We hiked.

I forgot his hat, but I had an extra pair of shorts in the diaper bag.
Poor guy. #momfail

We got 4 out of the 5 children in my family together.
Along with my momma!

We attended the rodeo.
Grandma worked her magic and got Hudson to sleep during the rodeo.
The boy was having nothing to do with mom and dad's attempts to get him to sleep.

We attended Justin's wedding in Rexburg and spent time hanging out with cousins at their reception.
I kind of love this whole getting married and having babies stage that we are all at/getting to.

And we said goodbye.
His Aunt Rebekah left her senior pictures in his crib so that he will remember her.
(He has ripped them all down now. Sorry Rebekah)
For the first time in way too many goodbyes I haven't been pregnant or postpartum hormonal which was so nice.
I actually didn't cry during the goodbye with my mom, but managed to last until a while later :)
And it didn't make me quite as depressed as the last goodbye when I was 3 weeks postpartum.
A tender mercy really.

4th of July Weekend

The day before the 4th we went to Lava Hot Springs to go swimming and then to Taylor's parents.

Hudson loved the water at first, but he was ready for a nap, so he didn't last long. It was the first time that he swam in a big pool with us. (He went with my cousin, Melissa, while we were at Lagoon)

After we swam we went and got some square ice cream, and Rebekah and Taylor went and floated the river while I hung out with a sleeping baby.

Then we went on a Rzr ride in Grace before heading back to Idaho Falls.

My sister, Rebekah, was with us on all of these adventures.
(Thanks Taylor's mom for watching Hudson while we went riding!)

The views are incredible.

Our 4th of July was pretty low key. We attended the city parade, grilled some burgers, and watched the fireworks. We purposely got to the fireworks plenty early so that we could enjoy some time outside on the river. It was the perfect summer day.

He was so ready for a nap by the time the parade started.
Apparently it is Idaho Falls 150th year so a lot of the floats were decorated around that theme.
I was really impressed with the way the city views the temple.
It was very apparent that it is an important landmark of this city.
There were multiple floats that had the temple on it, and I could not believe the detail that a few of the floats had. It literally looked like a mini version of the temple was going by us.

The noise of the parade did not even make this boy flinch during his snooze.

After a nap he woke up in a much better mood, and he loved watching the parade.

Snoozing in the stroller while waiting for the fireworks.

Father's Day (Weekend) 2015: Taylor's First Father's Day

It's only been a month and a half since Father's Day and I am just getting around to blogging about ie. Blehh this kills me, but anyway, on to this post.

Taylor's cousin, Kelsey, got married the day before Father's Day in the Logan Temple. We had the opportunity to go to her reception that night before in Grace and then the sealing in Logan. (fun fact: my parent's got sealed in the Logan temple over 30 years ago! We could have been in the same sealing room. whaaat!)

Hudson with his Uncle Sheldon (Taylor's twin brother)
Hudson fat facing it in the second pictures makes me laugh a little too hard.

On June 20th Taylor celebrated his first Father's Day. Taylor got some new ties from Hudson including matching ties. We went to church and I made Taylor a scrumptious dinner. It was a simple, but I hope good day for Taylor.

A special Father's Day picture for his Poppy (my dad).

Hudson's 6 Month Pictures

Now that the semester has ended, and my family that was visiting for a week has left, it's about time to get caught up on blogging. I figure there is no better way to start getting caught up than with pictures of this cute boy.

We had my cousin, Melissa(Flash Photo), take them. If you live anywhere near Kaysville, Ut I highly suggest her. She does a phenomenal job! She was also the photographer that took our wedding pictures found here.

She captured everything about him, including his personality at this age perfectly.
From his happy smiley self to the way he acted like a beached whale when he lay on his stomach and moved his arms and kicked his legs as if he was moving.
The way he sucks on his bottom lip to the waterfalls of drool that go off of his chin.
The way he chews on his fingers to the occasional times he gets shy and puts his head down.
And let's not forget those chubby cheeks
Oh how we love this boy of ours.
