Fast forward to 1:15 AM when Hudson woke up crying/screaming. This was mostly not normal. I went into his room and got him out of his crib in an attempt to calm him down. He continued to scream even with his pacifier in his mouth.
At this point Taylor got out of bed and made him a bottle. He screamed, drank part of it, and then screamed some more. It was all that we could do to get him to finish his bottle. That was completely not normal as a bottle is one of Hudson's best friends.
He sat in the rocking chair with Taylor and whimpered every time Taylor or I touched his right foot. We tried to get him to stand on it and he wouldn't put weight on it. We were worried that he had done something to his foot that we didn't know about. By now it was 1:30, Hudson was still crying/screaming, and we had no clue what to do. We decided to take him into the ER since we were afraid that something was really wrong.
We started to get dressed and get coats on. As I was throwing on some socks and shoes Hudson threw up all over himself and the floor. We then changed him and headed out the door.
Hudson calmed down on the way to the hospital, but he began to cry again as soon as I took him out of his car seat. We got him checked in and he cried off and on in the waiting room. He cried during his initial exam and then he was perfectly fine as soon as they brought us to the hospital bed. He was climbing all over, laughing and smiling at the lady who checked him out, and jumping on the bed.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Hudson has a fever. It got as high as 102.5 and even tylenol couldn't get it to go completely down most of the time. Whether or not him having a fever was related to whatever was going on with him Sunday night we will never know. While we weren't too happy to have lost sleep and then deal with a sick baby for a few days, we are grateful that he is healthy again and that there wasn't anything really wrong with him. We are also grateful that we only live minutes away from a hospital so that we can get there quickly in case of emergencies.
