12 Months of Hudson// Month 7

-15 pounds 14 ounces. 26 and 1/2 inches long
-5 ounces every 4 hours unless he has had some solids.
-Sometimes sleeps through the night, but he is usually up once a night.
-Size 2 diapers
-Still in 3-6 month clothes with only 3 or 4 6-9 month onsies that aren't too big.
-Gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth and then launches onto his stomach.
-He is able to moved his knees forward when in a crawling position, but he hasn't figured out the hands yet.
-Has got the army crawling down. Well its more of both arms and feet pushing off at the same time, but, still, the boy is moving.
-He will army crawl crazy fast to get our phones if they get left on the floor. And he is literally never allowed to have our phones so he is quite proud if he can get them.
-Sits himself up from lying on his stomach. So weird to go get him from his crib and have him be sitting up. He's a houdini with this. I don't know that I have ever seen him do this, but I will turn around, and he will all of a sudden be sitting.
-Loves his rubber ducky during bath time
-Growing lots of hair. It is without a doubt blonde.
-Loves cords. If one of our laptop cords gets left out he pounces on them like a cat on a mouse.
-Constantly grabs us(our shirts, arms, legs) and tries to pull himself to standing. He doesn't really try to use anything else to stand up with.
-Has started to splash with his hands while in the bath
-Eats solids once a day, sometimes twice.
-Loves his baby food and will eat anything that we give him.
-We have given him some foods that weren't pureed, and he did great with them. So far we have given him steamed cauliflower, bananas, peas, cantaloupe, and watermelon. I imagine that this list will grow substantially in the next month.
-We went out to dinner the other night and he loved bites of rice from my burrito.
-He absolutely loves it when we give him little tastes of our treats.
-The Thomas in him shines through with his love for ice cream.
-He has started to get some seperation anxiety. He doesn't seem to care much if any one person leaves, but if someone walks out of the room and he is alone or sometimes when we walk out of the room after putting him in his crib he will cry because he is being left.
-His nose is always red. I think it's from burrowing his head into the ground while trying to get on his knees, but we don't know for sure.
-Not a single tooth yet. He's rocking a runny nose right now, has been crankier than normal, and sleeping worse lately so he might be teething that first tooth or he just has a cold. We will see.

He showed his true personality at his 6 month check up. He soaked the paper sheet on the table with drool and managed to rip it up even with me doing my best to not let him. Both the Dr and nurse commented on how cute he is and how much he smiles(like they always do). The Dr had minor concerns about his weight gain so we go back in on the 30th to have him weighed again. He did as well as one can expect with his shots, wasn't as grumpy the next day like last time, and we are so excited not to have to get shots at our next check up.

I left Hudson on the floor with a bottle and went to rinse off some dishes. Next thing I knew I heard a toy rattle, and I knew that there weren't any toys close to him when I walked away. I could not believe how fast he moved across the room. We are definitely in a new stage!

I've had multiple people in the last month ask me if Hudson is a year old or almost a year old. They are always surprised when I tell them his age. Giving his percentiles he is not a big boy for his age, so I don't know if it is because he has hit has always hit his motor milestones a little early or if he simply looks older than he is. Either way, I would prefer that he stay little forever.

Loud as can be and this boy slept like a rock through it.

Spitting all day every day.
He has even figured out how to do it with his bink in.

This was from a week ago, and he has gotten so much faster now.

Kelsey's wedding day.
I swear that I will blog about it (and everything else I need to catch up on) in the next week or two.

Father's Day love for his Poppy.
&When your stroller tray looks so tasty..

Helping me put away the laundry.
&My favorite breakfast making sidekick.

He's going to have a sharing problem when he gets a sibling.
&His 6 month check up.

These two<3
&Eating becomes so taxing.

The innocence of a baby is my one of my favorite things.
&He loved cantaloupe!

Driving in the parking lot at dad's work to go grab something.
&Independence Day!

Swimming at Lava Hot Springs
&How can you not love that chocolate ice cream face?

Hudson fell asleep on the pew in church one Sunday.
Taylor said the closing prayer in sacrament meeting.
As soon as Taylor started talking he woke up and looked around for him.
The second picture just kills me.

When diapers go on sale, you buy them.
&We bought a convertible car seat just after he turned 4 months old.
We only use his infant seat if he is riding in Taylor's truck.
Well, we hadn't used it in over 2 months, and I simply could not believe how big he looked.

The best napping partners.
Except Hudson was wide awake just hanging out in the second picture.

These shoes were the cutest, but I was too cheap to buy them for him.
&The cutest little cow I ever did see for cow appreciation day at Chik-fil-A

He crawled all the way over to his walker only to play with the edge of the carpet.
&How is my little baby able to do this now??

12 Months of Hudson// Month 6

- 16ish pounds. 26 inches We will find out his measurements for sure on the 30th at his 6 month appointment.
-Eats 5 ounces every 4 hours. (unless he ate solids, then the time between bottles is longer)
-Wearing 3-6 months clothes. 95% of 6-9 months are still too big.
-Size 2 diapers during the day. Size 3 at night.
-the happiest baby EVER
-Scoots himself backwards and forwards.
-Turns himself in a circle when on his belly.
-Gets on his knees and pushes up on to his hands, but he can't do both at the same time.
-When he gets on his knees he usually digs his head into the carpet. Typically all while eating his fist.
-Wakes up twice a night. On a rare night he only gets up once. Although this past week he has been doing much better, and even slept through the night a night or two.
-No longer given his pacifier at night. (We only give it to him at night if we are staying the night somewhere so he is out of his routine)
-Sits well on his own.
-Eating more solids.
-Naps 3 times a day. When he is home he usually starts his first nap around 9:30-10, 1 and 4. Times definitely very depending on the day (whether he is woken up early to go to the Rexburg) and the time that he woke up.
-Goes to bed 7:30-8.
-Wakes up around 7:30-8:30. Usually it's close to 8.
-First trip to Salt Lake.
-Beached whale. When he is on his stomach he will kick his feet with his arms in the air. We call this his beached whale position because he acts like he is trying to move somewhere, but it obviously gets him no where.
-Spits up less often.
-Has bedhead when he wakes up in the morning if he slept on his back.
-Loves crumpling paper. He chooses paper over his toys these days.
-His hair has gotten blonder especially in the past week.
-He still has dark blue eyes.

I wasn't afraid to start solids at 4 and half months old because I knew that he would hardly be eating any of what we gave him at that time. Now we are able to replace one of his meals with solids or use solids as a snack which makes the time between bottles longer. I am still making 98% of the baby food that he eats. If we are going away I will grab a jar or pouch of baby food for ease. I never thought that I would be the mom that makes baby food, but it is SO easy! We are transitioning to a mix of purees and baby led weaning, but mostly on the puree side right now. He loves it when we give him tastes of ice cream or something similar.

I'm sure that I think this every month, but this is my new favorite age! I am continually amazed while watching him figure out how to grab things and correct himself when his grab isn't where he wanted it to be. I love how happy he is, and how much he talks. It is so fun to watch him figure out how to get to something that he wants. I can't wait to see what new things this next month brings.

This is my favorite video ever.

It may not look like it, but very slowly he gets to where he wants to go.

Such a sweet boy.
&We LOVE this mesh feeder from Gigi.
He really enjoys eating banana and watermelon from it.

Every time we put him in the sink for his bath he throws his arms up like he is chilling in a hot tub.
&Memorial Day festivities.
The rest of the Memorial Day pictures can be found here

Little baby. Big cart.
He sleeps with his butt in the air most nights.

Snuggled up in the car.
&He chooses my water bottle over his toy every single time.

Paper entertains him for so long.
&He met his my cousin Amanda's son, James, who is 2 months old than him.
We had a mini baby wrestling match.
There was toe grabbing and onsie pulling as they sat across from each other.
People would have paid to see the cuteness.

Hanging out with his Great Grandma Thomas.
&Sucking on that bottom lip.

Love his little smile
&Another favorite sleeping position. This one is 'face in the mattress'.

Happy half birthday baby boy!

Grandma's 81 and 1/2 Birthday Party Weekend

This past weekend we went down to Salt Lake to have a party for my Grandma Thomas. We missed throwing her a bash for her 80th and she is only out here during the summer so 81st and a half it was. All of the family in the area came to the party which made it so fun. She was super surprised and overjoyed to see everyone.

Chewing on his thumb is one of the newest trends

We stayed at my cousin Melissa's while we were down there. On Friday we went to Temple Square and Ikea before heading to the party that night. For the first time in any car ride Hudson cried the entire time until we got to Ikea. A hot and I'm guessing tired babe wanted nothing to do with that ride. He is always so good in the car, but that was definitely an exception. I guess after already being stuck in the car for 3 hours we were asking too much for another car ride that soon.

Happy 81st and a half Grandma!

Grandma was SO surprised by the party.
She didn't suspect anything even as relatives kept coming during the day.
The food was super yummy and the company couldn't be beat.

Family is my favorite

These two got to meet for the first time.

Hand stand competitions and races for the littles.

I'm so so so grateful that these two were able to meet.

 Snuggles with Great Grandma Thomas
It was at least an hour after his bedtime which lead to some great snuggles.

On Saturday we went to Lagoon with Rebekah, and cousins Courtney, and George.

My awesome cousin Melissa was kind enough to watch Hudson for the day. It was a 2 for 1 deal of sorts since Courtney and George are two of her kids. It was the perfect day away, but Taylor and I were both ready to see Hudson again by the time we left the park at 5.

My cousin, Melissa, is such a good photographer.
She even takes the best Instagram pictures.
She also took some 6 months pictures of Hudson that I can't wait to see.
If you live anywhere near Kaysville and need a photographer hire her!

We had a little movie night with the family that night, and then it was back to reality Sunday morning.

This trip has ruined me. It truly felt like we were on vacation which made it feel like summer. In summer you don't go to school, but I still have 6 weeks left of this semester and zero desire to go to a single day of it.

Grandparents Galore

Last week Taylor's grandparents and great grandparents came to visit. We didn't get to spend very much time with them since we had work and school and live farther away from where they were staying, but the time that we did get to spend was great.

I had never had the opportunity to meet his great grandparents since they live in Indiana, and Hudson had never gotten to meet set of grandparents.

Just a couple pictures taken during the family pictures

We went out to dinner and got family pictures taken Saturday night. On Sunday they came up to see us, our home, and to see Hudson again before we went to church.

And now for a slight picture overload because you only see these grandparents once in a long while.

Great Great Grandpa Tim

Great Great Grandma Shirley

Great Grandpa Denny
Riding the horsey and learning about his toes.

Great Grandma Jackie

We love these grandparents!

I'm so glad that Hudson was able to meet them.
Even though he will never remember it we will, I am very grateful that they made the trip to visit.
